Fort Wayne will participate in a worldwide Valentine's Day event to prevent violence against women.
“One Billion Rising Day” will be observed in a noon rally Thursday at Parkview Field. The event is open to the public, and information on local anti-violence resources will be available. Donations will also be accepted to end violence.
The Allen County Commissioners on Friday issued a proclamation in support of the global event.
