Man stabbed in fight in Fort Wayne on Monday morning

A man who was reportedly stabbed Monday morning has been released from the hospital.

According to a news release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers went to St. Joseph Medical Center, 700 Broadway, at approximately 7:25 a.m. in order to investigate a reported stabbing.

An adult male had come to the emergency room suffering from a stab wounds, the release said, and during the course of the investigation, detectives determined that the incident leading to the victim being stabbed took place at a home in the 800 block of St. Mary's Avenue.

Crime-scene technicians with the Fort Wayne Police Department processed the scene there and have since cleared the area.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the stabbing victim arrived at the home on St. Mary's Avenue to visit an acquaintance, according to the news release. A disturbance erupted and resulted in the victim being stabbed; one person, an adult male, is currently in police custody. Neither person's identity was released.
