One has to think that we are now living in a very trying time in our nation’s short life span. Some lament that it’s too late to save the values that our nation was founded upon. Others celebrate the possibility that the core intent of our founders’ original Constitution should be demolished. Our founders’ intent was to provide freedom and liberty for individuals to succeed to one’s highest level of accomplishment in their chosen field. They also desired freedom for all to worship and speak out as they so chose. In addition, they were extremely committed to assuring that tyrannical dictatorship would not be possible in the United States as it was in their time in European nations, especially Great Britain. Hence, the 2nd Amendment, and its intent was to provide for a civilian defense against a tyrannical takeover of their dream of a republic of the people, by the people and for the people.

Today we see an automotive industry of the government, a student loan industry of the government, a medical industry of the government, a Federal Reserve agency of the government, an oil non-producing industry of the government, and on it goes.

What is your choice? We must choose either individual liberty or governmental tyranny. Time is now for us to decide. Our children’s and grandchildren’s future hangs on our choice.

Our next choice comes in two years. Please vote for liberty for our children and grandchildren. And, may God choose to continue to bless America in spite of our many great faults.

Jay Powell
