Due to the humidity inside the natatorium, more wear takes place over time, Hess explained after the meeting was over. Hess said that the roof repair was needed about 18 months prior to its estimated time of replacement.
According to information provided by the district, Fort Wayne Roofing and Sheet Metal will work on the natatorium at a cost to the district of $467,300.
Dahm Brothers was awarded a contract of $486,900 to work on maintenance and warehouse structures in the district, while Construct Solutions will get $434,982 to work on South Side and Wayne high schools and Nebraska Elementary.
The work, according to the district, must be completed by Aug. 30.
