The Embassy Theatre will resound with the music of great movies Saturday, but the notes will come from the stage rather than the big screen.

The Fort Wayne Philharmonic celebrates the music of Hollywood during a “Lights, Camera … The Oscars” Pops series concert at 8 p.m.

“Of our Pops shows, it is one of the biggest musically,” said Alex Brown, Phil marketing manager.

The orchestra will perform songs from a wide variety of films, ranging from “Tara's Theme” from “Gone with the Wind” and “Over the Rainbow” from “Wizard of Oz” to a tribute to renowned soundtrack composer John Williams and a medley of songs from “Rocky” to “A Whole New World” from the animated film “Aladdin” and “(I've Had) The Time of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing.”

The philharmonic will be assisted by two guest vocalists, Teri Dale Hansen and Nat Chandler.

Hansen made her Broadway debut in 2002 in “The Boys from Syracuse” and that same year also began performing with Marvin Hamlisch at concerts worldwide. She also played the female lead roles in national tours of “The Music Man” and “Camelot.” Hansen has performed with symphonies around the world.

Chandler's Broadway credits include the title role in “The Scarlet Pimpernel” and a starring role in “Children and Art.” His many other stage credits include a leading role in the national touring show “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.” He also has performed with several symphonies in the United States.
