“We have been searching for a morning show on HOT 107.9 for close to a year,” Phil Becker, general manager for the station's owner, Oasis Radio Group, said in an email. “Our No. 1 priority is making sure we give our audience a show that will engage them. We are confident that 'The Bert Show' will do just that.
“Had we been able to find a show locally that would have delivered what Bert offers, we would, of course, have considered it,” Becker added.
Oasis plans to keep operating WJFX as a Top 40 music station, he said.
“The Bert Show” plays some music, but most of the entertainment is based around Weiss and the cast sharing intimate and humorous details about their lives and the lives of their families and friends, the news release said. The program also offers lifestyle advice, entertainment news and interviews with celebrity guests.
