Ivy Tech−Northeast will offer associate of science and associate of applied science degrees in agriculture beginning in August.Credits earned in the associate of science degree can be transferred to Purdue University, where those credits can be applied to one of 33 majors at Purdue.

The agriculture program is currently offered at the Columbus, East Central, Kokomo, Lafayette, Richmond and Wabash Valley campuses of Ivy Tech.

The curricula vary by campus, and they include several courses tailored to the agricultural opportunities available in that region. The course requirements are likely to include core classes in agricultural business and economics, animal science and crop production, for example.

Ivy Tech notes that agriculture has a $20 billion impact on the state’s economy annually.
