Fort Wayne Komets forward Matt Syroczynski spoke with The News-Sentinel following the Komets' loss at Toledo on Sunday.
What are your thought's on tonight's game?
There's not much to say after this weekend.
How do you turn this around?
We just have to work harder. It's the only thing I know that works. We're getting chances, but we have to bury them. We have to be tougher on our sticks in front of the net and be tougher in front of our own net and help Charlie out. The only way to get out of a slump is to keep working.
Is everyone gripping the sticks too tightly?
I think so. I think we out-shot them tonight for the third straight game. We had a lot of chances. We have to go to practice Tuesday and practice scoring, practice defense, we have to practice everything. Nothing is working so we just have to work.
How are you feeling right now? Are you closer to where you want to be?
It's getting better each game. For a guy like me it's nice to have Chaulk back. We have some chemistry there. We know how each other plays, and we have to keep getting in better shape. We have to spend time after practice and work with Marino. For a small guy he digs pucks out and finishes checks. I think it's a line that could work down the stretch here.
