CROWN POINT — The daughter of Lake County's coroner has been arrested on charges alleging that she broke into her mother's home and burglarized it with her boyfriend.

Lake County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Patti Van Til says Coroner Merrilee Frey returned home Monday to find her Winfield home's back door kicked in.

The Times of Munster reports that Frey found her 33-year-old daughter, Amie Frey, and the woman's 32-year-old boyfriend, David Storey, inside.

Van Til says Frey had previously told her daughter she wasn't allowed inside her home. She says Amie Frey allegedly had her pockets filled with her mother's jewelry.

Amie Frey and Storey were arrested and charged with burglary. They remained jailed Tuesday at the Lake County Jail.
