•WGU Indiana has announced the creation of 10 new Mathematics and Science Educators Scholarships, with each valued up to $4,000 over the course of a student's degree program. •David Christof, a philanthropist-athlete for the cause of safe drinking water, will speak at 7:30 p.m. today at Indiana Tech's Magee-O'Connor Theater in Andorfer Commons, 1600 E. Washington Blvd. He will speak about “Meet the Running Man: How Far Would You Run For Something You Care About?” Free admission.
•Trine University raised more than $300,000 at its 10th annual Black and White Scholarship Gala.
•IPFW will host College Goal Sunday 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Neff Hall, 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E. Financial aid professionals will be on hand to help fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA ), which must be filed by March 10 to receive collegiate financial aid.•A team from Warsaw High School won the 39th annual High School Mathematics Competition at Trine University. Teacher Amanda Taylor led her team of Bryce Carter, Grant Carlson, Josh Miller and Drew Tomasik. If these students enroll at Trine, they will receive $3,000 annual renewable scholarships. Carter and Miller won individual advanced and elementary categories, respectively, and will receive a $5,000 renewable scholarship if they enroll at Trine. Taylor won a $1,000 stipend to use for math education.
•Homestead High School will host a spring college fair 6-7:30 p.m. March 11 at 4310 Homestead Road. Representatives from 80 two- and four-year colleges, universities, vocational schools, the armed services and financial institutions will attend.
