INDIANAPOLIS — Prosecutors in Indianapolis have asked a laboratory to fast-track toxicology tests on a motorist involved in a weekend ambulance crash that killed two medics.
A spokeswoman for Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry tells The Indianapolis Star the request means test results on 21-year-old Jade Hammer should arrive in one to two weeks instead of the usual six.
Those results will show Hammer's blood-alcohol content and help prosecutors decide if they will charge her in the crash.
Police say an ambulance carrying two medics had the right of way when Hammer's car collided with it early Saturday in downtown Indianapolis, fatally injuring 22-year-old Cody Medley of Indianapolis and 24-year-old Tim McCormick of Greenwood.
A public memorial was scheduled for Wednesday on Butler University's campus for the two medics.
