The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday evening.
According to incident reports provided by the department, the shooting took place around 7:08 p.m. inside a cellular phone store in the 600 block of East Lewis Street.
The incident reports said responding officers found a man inside the TGF Mobile store with blood on his hand and on the left side of his gray, hooded sweatshirt. They also found multiple shell casings outside and inside the store, the reports said.
Witnesses told investigators that the shooter walked toward the front door of the store with a gun drawn at his side, then the shooter opened the door and opened fire. Officers were told that the shooter then left in a vehicle that was described as a black, newer-model Jeep Cherokee.
A news release from the police department on Thursday said the shooting victim, a 36-year-old man, had been treated and released from the hospital and that investigators did not believe the incident to be random.
No information about a possible suspect was given.
