One person escaped a house fire Saturday afternoon.
Fort Wayne Fire Department crews were called at 2:40 p.m. and arrived four minutes later to find smoke coming out of the attic vents of a home in the 700 block of West State Boulevard, according to a news release. Fire crews went inside to the second-floor attic and pulled down ceilings. They got the fire under control in 13 minutes, and fire damage was contained to the attic. The rest of the home had some smoke and minor water damage.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
The Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Fort Wayne Police Department, AEP and Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement assisted fire crews.
