Health care law webinar

The Affordable Care Act and Health Plans Aiding Enrollment in State and Federal Insurance Programs free webinar will be noon Thursday. Disability awareness month

Easter Seals Arc, the Northeast Indiana Disability Awareness Coalition and Mayor Tom Henry are proclaiming March as Disability Awareness Month at 11 a.m. Friday at Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana, 4919 Coldwater Road. The event is free.

In addition, the following events will be held in March:

•5:30 p.m March 8, Ability Abound at Parkview Field's Lincoln Event Center, 1301 Ewing St. The winners of a month-long essay contest regarding disabilities that involve school-age children and older adults will be announced. For tickets or more information, call Lynne Gilmore at 207-5656.

Accessibility survey

WebAIM (Accessibility in Mind) has launched two surveys, “Survey of Users with Low Vision” and “Survey of Users with Motor Disabilities,” and how this impacts your ability to use a computer. Responses are due March 15.

Walking class

Purdue Cooperative Extension's Walk Indoors free exercise class will be 10-11 a.m. beginning April 11 through May 7 at the Allen County extension office, 4001 Crescent Ave. on the campus of IPFW. The class is open to the first 25 participants. Pre-registration is required.

Disability interns sought

The Arc is seeking students with disabilities to be Disability Public Policy Interns. The position pays $3,000 per semester or summer session and will be located at The Arc's public policy office in Washington, D.C. Applications for the summer term are due March 8, and applications for the fall term are due May 15.

Nursing classes online

The University of Indianapolis School of Nursing will offer their RN-to-BSN program online beginning this fall. The program can be completed in 12 months. The program is currently accepting applications and is open to licensed nurses currently working in Indiana. Financial aid is available and students will have the flexibility to move from the hybrid to online format, or vice versa, as their circumstances change.
