One man in critical condition after Thursday evening double shooting

Friday, March 1, 2013 - 7:50 am

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a Thursday evening double shooting where one person was left in critical condition.

The incident was reported to police at 6:09 p.m., according to a news release from the police department. Officers responded to an area near the 2100 block of Eden Street to investigate reports of a shooting; upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

One of the men was judged to be in fair condition at the scene, while the other was ruled to be in critical condition. Both men were taken to a local hospital, according to the release.

Investigators conducted interviews and processed the crime scene for evidence and were still attempting to establish a motive for the shootings. A vague description of a suspect was given: a man who was wearing a dark-colored hoodie, the release said.

The incident remains under investigation by the police department and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
