Two people were injured, one critically, in a head-on collision Saturday afternoon.
At around 3 p.m. the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 33 north of Hilderbrand Road. According to witnesses, a black Mercedes was traveling south on U.S. 33 when it crossed the center line and struck a maroon F350 truck traveling north, according to Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel, sheriff's department spokesman. The head-on collision caused the F350 to slide into a ditch while the Mercedes came to rest in the middle of the road.
The Mercedes driver was flown to a local hospital in critical condition while the truck's driver was taken in serious condition. A passenger in the truck was taken in good condition. None of the victims' names was released.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
