We keep reading where the federal government is borrowing 40 percent (taxes only cover 60 percent of federal spending) of their largess. Why does the government give away billions to other countries, to state and local governments, not-for-profit organizations, etc? Why do the people, especially at the state and local level, feel they should ask for or accept this federal money? If the government keeps printing money, why can’t we as citizens print our own money and have it backed by something worthwhile like gold? Why do some people feel our country should go the way of the socialists and communists? When can we meet with the mayor and governor about this wasteful spending?
