Thursday, March 14, 2013 - 12:29 am

The Saint Francis men's basketball squad had three student-athletes recognized by the NAIA on Wednesday for their work in the classroom.

Seniors Kevin Bloom and Ethan Hussey, as well as junior Zachary Welklin, each earned National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Daktronics-NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete status.

The student-athletes are nominated by their institution's coach and must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.
