Blackhawk Christian senior Morgan Bemisderfer has signed a letter of intent to play tennis at Huntington University next year. Last year, she was 9-1 and is 38-6 for her career with one season to go… Colonel Crawford High School senior Taylor Kelso has signed her letter of intent to play volleyball at Indiana Tech in 2013. Kelso is a 5-foot-1 defensive specialist from North Robinson, Ohio… The Indiana Tech volleyball team announced the signing of Paige Doellman, an outside hitter from Larry Ryle High School in Union, Ky. Doellman is a 6-foot-0 right side and outside hitter.South Adams has hired Rick Burkhalter as the new varsity football coach Burkhalter replaces Jason Arnold, who was hired to become athletic director. Burkhalter has served as a varsity football coach for 12 years. He spent the past two seasons as offensive coordinator for South Adams. He was an assistant coach with Bellmont when the Braves won the 3A state title. He was the head coach in 2009-10, compiling a 12-10 record.The National Christian College Athletic Association released season honors for the North Central region and named Jordan Bowerman as the 2012-2013 Player of the Year. Bowerman averaged 14.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while leading thePilots to the Sweet Sixteen and a 25-10 finish. The Leo native was instrumental in Bethel's drastic turnaround season going just 15-14 a year ago. Bowerman's game high this season came on Jan. 15 when he scored 25 points against Huntington University.Indiana Tech junior Kendall Guthrie has been named the National Women's Lacrosse League Player of the Week.Guthrie led the Warriors to a 14-13 victory over Davenport University in the first-ever Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game last Saturday. The standout midfielder from Lake Oswego, Oregon scored a team-high four goals.Saint Francis junior guard Kayla Drake was named second-team NAIA Women's Basketball All-America team. The Kokomo native averaged 16.3 points per game in USF's three NAIA tourney games with a high of 21 against Reinhardt University.
