The Cadets notched their first-ever state championship game appearance on Saturday with a 68-63 victory over Andrean. The News-Sentinel caught up with Coach Josh Eggold after the game:

On his team's resiliency:

I've never had a team like this, so I'm going through this the same as you guys are. I felt like every timeout and every huddle we had there was a belief that was there in each other. I guess that's what seniors give to each other. It is just great to be along for the ride.

On Brian Gremaux playing through foul trouble:

He got in foul trouble a little bit and that's been the story of his postseason. It is good to see him learn how to play with four fouls. We played him longer than what I like to play him with four, but he came through like a champ for us in the end.

On rebounding from the disastrous third quarter:

For the season, 95 percent of the third quarters we have really won pretty handily, so when we got punched in the third quarter that was a little different for us. I don't know what it was that propelled us in the fourth. We didn't quit defensively and offensively things started opening up that we had been running and they defended, but in the fourth maybe some things broke down defensively and we were able to get (Brian Gremaux) some touches inside. I thought (D.J. McCall) settled down a little bit. D.J. wanted to carry the world on his shoulders in the third I thought that will be something he will learn from and grow from.

On the defensive game plan:

We tried to keep them off pace. Andrean does a great job on the high ball screen, (Nick) Davidson just destroyed Plymouth with the high ball screen with three three's almost consecutively. So I knew they were capable of that, but I think (Marq Rogers) did a great job. Marq is a special defender, but he also had help.
