PBS39 and Cinema Center are collaborating to offer area viewers a free sneak preview screening of "Call the Midwife" Season 2 at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cinema Center, 437 E. Berry St. Doors open at 1:30pm for this special preview of Episode 1 of the second season of this TV series that has been popular in Great Britain this past year.

The episode being screened, which will air at 8 p.m. March 31 on PBS39HD/channel 39-1, takes us back into the life of Jenny Lee. When viewers last visited the Poplar community, midwife Jenny Lee had settled into Nonnatus House with fellow nurses Cynthia, Trixie and Chummy. Along with the order of nursing nuns, the midwives administered to the bustling community in which dozens of babies were born each month – and where Jenny began to finally find a home.

In Season 2, Jenny continues to grow as a nurse and midwife. She is not only expanding her medical skills, such as working a rotation as a surgical nurse in a busy London hospital, but also finding her footing as a voice for the women of Poplar in this first episode of the new season.

Seating is first come and first served for this single, free community screening. For more information and directions, please visit http://bit.ly/CTMevent.
