Indiana Tech pitcher wins honor

Miller continues his stellar season

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - 7:54 am

Indiana Tech's Josh Miller has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for baseball.

Miller, a senior from Delphos, Ohio, threw his second complete game shutout of the season in Tech's 8-0 win over Spring Arbor University on Saturday while fanning six batters. The 6-foot-5 right-hander came within two outs of tossing his first no-hitter after holding SAU hitless through 6.1 innings.

On the season, Miller owns a 3-0 record with a 0.38 earned run average. He has allowed only one run in 24 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts and opponents are hitting a mere .145 against him.

After winning 10 of their last 12 games, the Warriors are now 10-6 on the year. Tech returns to action on Saturday when they host Concordia University in their home opener. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
