Lutheran Cancer support groups

Lutheran Cancer Resource Center, 7910 W. Jefferson Blvd., Suite 109, 435-7584, will hold the following support groups in April: 10 a.m. April 1, Look Good/Feel Better. Call 471-3911 to register. 6 p.m. April 2, brain tumor; 1 p.m. April 9 and 23, smoke buster's; 4 p.m. April 9, ovarian/gyn; 4 p.m. Feb. 15, survivorship; 5:30 p.m. April 16, breast cancer; 4 p.m. April 17, head and neck; 4 p.m. April 18, lymphoma/leukemia/multiple myeloma; 6 p.m. April 23, ostomy; and 4 p.m. April 25, recurrent metastatic.

Diabetes awareness

Tomorrow is the 25th annual American Diabetes Association Alert Day and the American public is asked to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. The test is available in English and Spanish.

Cancer caregiver help

Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana will host “Caring for the Caregiver: It's a Marathon … Not a Sprint” at 4-5:30 p.m. April 9 at the Health Arts Center, 6316 Mutual Drive. This is a program of The Association of Oncology Social Workers and will provide tips to both cancer patients and their family and friends. Topics include how cancer affects the whole family and family life after cancer. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required by April 8.
