The Indiana Tech softball team wrapped up play at the NTC Tournament in Clermont, Fla., on Tuesday with a 10-2 win over St. Catherine University in five innings.

Reigning WHAC Player of the Week Jessica Cotton got the Warriors going early with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.

Already leading 6-0 in the second, Patrice Suplicki blasted her first homer of the season, a solo shot down the left-field line to put Tech ahead by seven.

St. Catherine (7-3) got on the board in the third inning with a two-run shot of their own to narrow the deficit to five, but the Warriors put up a three spot in the bottom of the fifth to close out the game. JC Plezbert had an RBI single and Suplicki followed with a run-scoring double. Jenevie Rivas then ended the game with an RBI hit down the left-field line.

Tori Kilps recorded her first win of the season, allowing just two runs on two hits while striking out five. Suplicki had a monster day at the plate going 4-for-4 with three doubles and a homer. She finished with two RBIs and two runs scored. Martika Armstead and Sofia Johantgen also collected two hits in the game.

Prior to the game against St. Catherine, the Warriors were defeated 5-0 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

MIT (4-4) scored a pair of unearned runs in the first and tacked on three more in the fifth. The Warriors were held to just three hits, two from Suplicki and one from Armstead.

Sam Berrios, the WHAC Pitcher of the Week, took the loss, giving up five runs, only three earned, in six innings while fanning five.

Indiana Tech (6-14) returns to action on April 3 when it travels to Winona Lake, Indiana for a non-conference matchup with Grace College.
