The Associated Church of Fort Wayne & Allen County along with New Beginnings Church held the 49th Good Friday service at Greater Mount Ararat Baptist Church, 2111 Edsall Ave.

Several hundred people gathered for gospel music, a sermon and fellowship. Some of the singing talent came from as far away as Louisville. The Rev. Roger Reece, executive pastor of Associated Churches, said it is time for the city to come together and lock arms. Members of the crowd applauded in approval.

The title of the service was “Women at the Cross,” and in keeping with the feminine theme it was Co-Pastor Glenda Griffin of Changing Lives Ministry who delivered the sermon. Most of those leading the service were women.
