Two arrested in man's assault
Lee Underwood, 42, of the 1000 block of Edgewater and Maurice T. Higgins, 43, of the 300 block of West Superior Street, have both been charged with robbery, a Class B felony.
The charges stem from the alleged battery of a man outside Twenty Past Four at around 3 p.m. March 26. According to probable cause affidavit, two men approached the alleged victim. The alleged victim said neither man asked him for money, but instead unexpectedly attacked him, calling him anti-gay slurs during the battery. The alleged victim said he was confronted by one man with a silver “box cutter”-style knife and the other man displayed a silver-folding knife.
Both made attempts to stab the alleged victim during the altercation, but failed. It was after the two men fled that the victim discovered he was missing $40.
Warrant issued for man on child molesting and sexual misconduct with minors
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ramon R. Cervantes, 59, of the 4300 block of Winter Street, on one count of child molesting and three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, all Class C felonies.
According to court documents, the charges stem from events that occurred between June 2008 and January 2010 at Foster Park and on a Friday or Saturday between Oct. 1 and 31, 2012, at the Haunted Cave. According to court documents, on March 25 during an interview at the Fort Wayne Police Department, Cervantes admitted to taking three girls age 14 to the Haunted Cave during which time he touched them in an inappropriate manner, one girl on both her breasts and vagina and two others on their vaginas. He also admitted to touching one of the victims, a relative, starting at age 10, on her buttocks and in an inappropriate manner at Foster Park four years earlier during a “piggy back” ride. According to court documents he admitted he did these things to arouse himself.
Bad 'trip' leaves man thinking his braces are missing
A man believed he had lost some of his orthodontia after ingesting powdered psilocybin mushrooms Saturday.
According to a report from the Fort Wayne Police Department, a Fort Wayne Police officer responded to a call at around 8:37 a.m. Saturday morning to a gym. The man who made the call told the officer he had been at an apartment the night before where he had ingested powdered psilocybin mushrooms and passed out. When he woke up he felt like part of his orthodontia was missing. He had then left the individual’s apartment and walked to the gym where he made the phone call to the police. A medic said the individual appeared to be normal. At that point the man decided to call his dad to pick him up.
According to the responding police officer the man appeared to have a full set of braces.
