More than a year after bank robbery, suspects face federal charges

Wednesday, April 3, 2013 - 1:04 pm

More than a year after a New Haven bank was robbed, federal charges in the case have been filed against two Allen County men who were arrested Tuesday evening.

Matthew Lester Vanschoick, 28, and Michael Clayton Bure, 27, were charged with robbing PNC Bank, 411 Lincoln Highway West, New Haven, on Oct. 28, 2011, according to a news release from the FBI.

Bure was arrested in the 800 block of Cottage Avenue, and Vanshoick was arrested in the 5800 block of Lesteele Boulevard, both in Fort Wayne. Those arrests were made by officers of the Allen County Sheriff Department Warrants Division, the FBI said.

The investigation into the robbery of the PNC Bank was conducted by the New Haven Police Department, the FBI Fort Wayne Safe Streets Task Force, and the FBI Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force. Both task forces are comprised of FBI agents and officers from the Indiana State Police, Allen County Police Department, and Fort Wayne Police Department.
