(A newspaper article in February) had taken me back to when I was on stage performing “Footloose” play’ at North Side High School Auditorium in 2008. I saw the word “Footloose,” then I immediately stopped reading the article to the finish line and can’t help but write down the memory of performing the Footloose play.

I still receive phone calls from friends representing North Side, Northrop, Snider, Elkhart Central, South Side and several other schools who have attended the “Footloose” play after they heard the energetic me, the Redskins mascot in 2008, performing the Footloose play. These friends are still eager to see me on stage during summer plays. The play wasn’t limited to high schools only.

Indeed, when I am on stage, I am on stage...I made sure the audience cried for joy, laughed till it hurt, and smiled. The director, Mr. Vol, had to constantly remind me to drop my name while on stage and only remember my stage name since (he) Mr. Volz knew I would be cheered up as if I am the only one on stage. I accepted the suggestion. I could hear people screaming my name.

This particular article reminded me that I owe much thanks to all who have attended the play and to all who have planned to attend but couldn’t. Much thanks to all.
