I was appalled when I read the article by Kevin Leininger pointing out IPFW’s celebration of Women’s History Month billed as “4,000 years for choice: Artwork to celebrate abortion rights.” The barbarian image is beyond comprehension. Is this the same woman who would raise an outcry over the guns shooting grade school children, or the bombing of an innocent village or a drone over their home?

How is it that the knife murdering an innocent child is a reason to celebrate rather than cringe? How is it that the celebration of motherhood has become background to the celebration of the holocaust of innocents?

I am grieved to think that women in today’s culture would not be tortured by the image of an aborted child. I am grieved to think that women have lost the love and kindness that makes them so special and so invaluable to society. It is with horror when women lose the kindness and compassion only they can possess that our society begins to crumble.
