I was at one of the Allen County Public Library branches the other day. Clearly posted, in several locations, were signs that asked patrons to use cellphones only in the lobby so as not to disturb other patrons. One particular woman felt that this did not apply to her and proceeded to have a conversation (loudly) on her phone in the middle of the library.

Here's the first rule of prognostication, be it forecasting the economy, the weather or just plain old fortune telling. Always predict bad things will happen. That way, when they don't happen, people will be so relieved they'll forget you were wrong.

So what if the flowers are on the graves all year long? I agree with that lady: The graves look more honorable, and we are remembering the people buried.

I hope Mayor Henry gets Gen. Mad Anthony moved. If not, leave him where he is and rename the park Mad Anthony Park.

Dude, people don't choose to be gay or straight. Now, if you can, that means you're a bisexual. As such, were you denied the right to attend your prom? If people really could choose, why would anyone choose to be gay and subject themselves do all the homophobic haters and bullies around?

Isn't it strange how many Republicans are quick to call a zygote a child but display little concern for them after they're born?

I believe in the right to own a gun, but stop using the Constitution as the reason to own one. It was written long ago when they did not have police stations close by, and people had no choice but to defend themselves.

Mentally ill people should not have weapons, so all of the world's governments and their militaries must be disarmed immediately.
