I just read the review of Barry Manilow’s show on April 18 written by Sheryl Krieg. I fully agree with the review: Music was excellent, brought back lots of memories and was very professional, but with one exception. Toward the end of the review, Sheryl relates how for two hours she didn’t think about the terrible news of the day, and how quickly the two hours went by, insinuating the show was two hours long. I would suggest either Sheryl didn’t have a watch or she started counting time from the time she paid her parking fee until when she was out of the crowded lot en route home.

Show time was advertised as 7:30 p.m. and that it was about two hours long. At 7:48 p.m., the show still had not started, although it did start shortly afterward. There were no actual intermissions, and Barry took his last bows and left the stage at 9:08 p.m.

It’s not that we were unhappy; Barry made it clear he was battling illness, which can happen to anyone, and it is understandable to have shortened the show under those circumstances. However, it shouldn’t have been reported in the review as a two-hour show when it was just slightly over an hour.
