Allen Superior Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Tamekka L. Jenkins, 29, of the 7400 block of Mill Run Road. Jenkins has been charged with forgery, a Class C felony, and receiving stolen property, a Class D felony.

According to court documents the charges stem from events that occurred on Feb. 14, when a Fort Wayne Police officer met with the manager of Instant Tax Service. He said he had been contracted to do a woman's tax return. When the woman went to Instant Tax Service to pick up her $ 6,866.05 refund check it was no longer in her file.

The missing check had been cashed Feb. 4 at American Check Cashing. The business owner said a woman who had identified herself as the victim cashed the check; at that time he took her fingerprint. The police lab identified the fingerprint, which led them to Jenkins, according to court documents.

Allegedly, Green immediately was verbally abusive to one of the officers. When the female half of the dispute was moved a distance from Green he immediately closed the distance between them and attempted to punch the officer in the nose. The officer blocked the swing, but Green grabbed him by the shirt,. The officer grabbed him to bring him onto custody and the two were still struggling when the other officer deployed his taser, which stopped Green's resistance. It was then that the officer noticed he had an abrasion to his right chin and neck area for the scuffle. Green then threatened the officer who had tased him in front of the other.
