The Indiana State Police is investigating the discovery of a man's body Wednesday evening in a wooded area near the Whitley/Allen county line.
According to a new release, the body was discovered by a property owner just after 8 p.m. in a wooded area in the 800 block of County Line Road in Whitley County. The release said it is unknown how long the body had been there and who the person would have been.
An autopsy will be conducted to try to determine the cause and manner of the man's death, while the State Police's Criminal Investigation Division will try to determine the man's identity and how he came to be in the wooded area. The Whitley County Sheriff's Department and the Whitley County Coroner's Office will assist the State Police, according to the release.
