About 3 a.m. Friday, Fort Wayne Police were called to the intersection of Taylor and Nelson streets, where a man and woman wanted to report an attempted robbery. The woman, described in police reports as “so intoxicated she couldn't stand and could barely talk,” said that the would-be robber grabbed her purse, but she hung onto it.

The man interviewed at the scene of the attempted robbery was a witness who said he heard two women screaming at that corner, looked to see what was going on and saw the intended victim swinging her purse and hitting another woman.

Getting a description of the attacker appeared out of the question. The victim at first said the robber was a man, then said it was woman. The man who witnessed the attempted robbery said the robber looked like a woman, but he wasn't sure.
