Join in a bike ride

Trek the Trails Bike Rides for May will be 6 p.m. tomorrow at Deer Ridge Elementary School, 1515 S. Scott Road; 6 p.m. May 21 at Rockhill Park Trailhead, near 1400 Catalpa St.; and 6 p.m. May 28 at IPFW, at the parking lot on the east side of the St. Joseph River near the Venderly Family Bridge, 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E.

Riders are encouraged to wear helmets. All rides are free. Participants can enter a drawing for a bike from Trek and Summit City Bicycles & Fitness. The drawing will be held at the end of the season.

•3-7 p.m. May 22, Third Place, gymnasium, 1601 W. Cedar Canyon Road, Huntertown

•2:30-6:30 p.m. May 23, Hope United Methodist Church, Community Room, 6608 Hoagland Road, Hoagland

•8-11 a.m. May 29, Triple Crown Services, 2720 Dupont Commerce Court, Suite 200. Donors will receive an insulated black Red Cross Tote bag.

•1-4 p.m. May 29, Tomkinson BMW, 929 Avenue of Autos, 14/69 Auto Mall. Donors will receive an insulated black Red Cross Tote bag.

In addition, the blood drive scheduled for Wednesday at Cummins Crosspoint has been canceled.

Honoring nurses

DeKalb Health in Auburn joined the American Nurses Association and health agencies nationwide to honor the more than 3 million- nurses in the United States during National Nurses Week May 6-12.

DeKalb Health honored its more than 200 nurses for the many ways in which they work to save lives and improve the health of our community.
