Letter to the editor: Congress should vote whether abortions in Obamacare are legal

Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 12:01 am

You asked the people the question in the Web poll “Where do you stand on the issue of abortion?” Since I'm not on a website or whatever, I'll have to write my answer.

I believe abortion is in most cases just a way to get out of a situation or choice made; they do not want the responsibility to carry out, and it is a sin added to the original sins of lust, adultery, fornication, sexual promiscuity, selfishness, irresponsibility and greed, in most cases, not all, but most, and is deceitful. The baby pays the price in death.

I do not believe in abortions, and especially I do not believe in Obamacare in the law making taxpayers responsible to pay taxes for women to have abortions, in any way, shape or form.

The feminists said of Roe v. Wade, they have a right to their own bodies and to choose and it's private. President Obama said when he spoke at Notre Dame that abortion is a private thing, but then he said we're all in this together. How can it be private if we're all in this together? So now Obamacare has made us all responsible to pay taxes for abortions, and it is not private anymore because we're all in this together.

I'd like the Congress to sit down and reason together. Not just compromise. Quit blaming each other, compromising and passing Band-Aids here and there that do not last. Reason and solve something. I'd like them to be bold, brave and courageous enough to pass a law by voting yes, it will be legal, or no, it will not be legal. Then either way it goes recall or take out from Obamacare the part that the taxpayers will pay taxes for abortions performed and instead change the wording that the taxpayers will not pay taxes for abortions, nor will the governments have a part in paying for them.

If it would be voted legal, I'd like to see it stated, whomever is involved in the abortion decisions will be responsible for payments themselves to keep it private, a right to their own bodies or choice and settle the abortion issue for good and let God be the judge.
