St. John-Emmanuel Lutheran School Principal Axle Gruen was duct-taped to a wall in the school's gymnasium by students Wednesday morning to raise money for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative.

Gruen said a second-grade teacher at St. John-Emmanuel Lutheran School saw the fundraising idea on Facebook and he immediately thought it was a fun and fresh idea.

Gruen said the school raised more than a $1,000, which will provide more than 100 malaria nets for families in Africa.
