They weren't happy about it, but the Allen County Commissioners Friday agreed to spend another $43,536 to correct a mistake on bids to build a new roundabout near Union Chapel and Diebold roads. The money will pay for piping that was ommitted from the original document.
Commissioners wondered why taxpayers should have to pay for contractors' mistakes. "It's worth looking into," said Nelson Peters.
Commissioners also approved revisions to the county's ethics ordinance that, among other things, expand the board from three members to five and establish timetables intended to speed up and clarify the process for reviewing complaints.
