Beginning at 1 a.m. Thursday, PBS39 (including broadcast channels 39-1, 39-2, 39-3 and 39-4) will be off the air as it performs electrical and power system upgrades with the wiring and connection of generators at its office and transmitter buildings.

This work and the subsequent outage resulting from it is expected to take two to four hours, but viewers should expect total off-air time to last from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. This work to be completed is part of the initial phase of PBS39's technology campaign, “Empowering Community Connections,” which, when completed, will allow PBS39 to offer and maintain increased levels of service and content delivery to its viewers throughout the area.

While this first phase of the work should be completed by daybreak on Thursday, June 20, the overall technology campaign, focused on raising $2.5 million dollars, is expected to be completed within three years.
