Letter to the editor: Fear of 'Black Death' enough to go after feral cats

Thursday, June 20, 2013 - 12:01 am

A couple of months ago (there was) an article about a man who contracted “The Black Death Plague” from a feral cat bite — a painful, debilitating death-causing disease thought to have been extinct a long time ago.

So if these feral cats are that filthy and capable of spreading man-killing pathogens, the Board of Health needs to get involved in the trapping and sanitary disposal of this potential epidemic.

Or are we going to start trapping and neutering rats, too?
