DeKalb grad accepts scholarship for track

Rachel Dincoff, a 2012 DeKalb High School graduate, has accepted a track scholarship from Auburn University. She was the 2012 IHSAA discus state champion. She competed this year for IPFW and will now transfer to Auburn and compete in the SEC.She was a three-sport athlete at DeKalb in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She was NHC shot put champ all four years of her high school career. She holds DeKalb school records in shot put (46'5”) and discus (143'7”).

At IPFW, she set school records for indoor shot put (47.625) and outdoor shot (50'). She also qualified for the first round of the NCAA Division 1 Nationals this yearFour IPFW women's golfers: Allison Curtis, Alyssa Turney, Brenna Sherwood and Taylor Lamphier, have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar team, announced by the association on Monday afternoon.

A total of 644 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with the honor, and the criteria for selection is a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.Curtis lead the group of four in scoring this season, averaging 82.28 strokes per round, including a pair of top-10 finishes on the season.

Turney averaged 85.39 strokes per round while Sherwood and Lamphier averaged 87.64 and 88.00 strokes per round, respectively. Thegroup helped lead IPFW to an eighth-place finish at the 2013 Summit League Championships.NEW HAVEN
