INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has picked state Auditor Tim Berry as the new Indiana Republican Party chairman.
Pence announced Wednesday that he was recommending the state GOP executive committee approve Berry as the party chairman and Pence campaign manager Kyle Robertson as the state party's executive director.
Berry was the Allen County treasurer for eight years before winning statewide election in 1998 and is in his second term as state auditor.
He will be replacing Eric Holcomb, who resigned last month to become U.S. Sen. Dan Coats' state chief of staff.
Pence says Berry's four statewide election victories show that he knows how to run successful campaigns in the state.
