Two-vehicle crash claims man's life in New Haven

One person is dead after a crash Friday afternoon between a motorcycle and car.The incident took place around 1:10 p.m., according to a news release from the New Haven Police Department. Police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the 400 block of Indiana 930 West after a crash was reported.

Responders found a man, whose identity has not been released, who was the motorcycle operator. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was eastbound on Indiana 930 when another vehicle that was westbound attempted to make a left turn into the driveway of a restaurant, resulting in the fatal collision, the release said.

A woman inside the car sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the New Haven Police Department.
