INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana couple has tied the knot during a star-spangled Fourth of July wedding on the steps of downtown Indianapolis' Monument Circle.

Tiffany and Brian Liffick exchange vows Thursday during their red, white and blue-themed wedding ceremony. Tiffany Liffick says she wanted to say her vows on the steps of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument because she and Brian shared a romantic moment at the same spot last year.

Brian Liffick tells WRTV-TV he proposed to Tiffany last year during downtown Indianapolis' fireworks show. His new bride's family has been working with the pyrotechnic crew for more than 20 years.

Tiffany's mother, Darlene Moore, says helping out behind the scenes with the fireworks show has become a tradition.

The newlyweds planned to help with the Thursday night's show.
