New Haven man killed in crash identified

Authorities have identified the motorcycle rider who was killed in a crash in New Haven Friday afternoon.William J. Dunn, 55, of New Haven, died of multiple blunt-force traumas, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office, which ruled that his death was accidental.

The crash happened about 1:10 p.m., according to New Haven Police, in the int 400 block of Indiana 930 West. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Preliminary investigation indicates Dunn was riding east on Indiana 930 when another vehicle driver who was headed west tried to make a left turn into the driveway of a restaurant, colliding with and killing Dunn. Dunn was wearing a helmet.

A woman inside the car that collided with his motorcycle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the New Haven Police Department.

Dunn's death was the 15th traffic death in Allen County in 2013.
