Turnstone power soccer team places third in tournament

The Turnstone Furious Flyers finished third in the 2013 Champions Cup held at IPFW over the weekend. The Flyers beat Ball State 2-1 in the consolation match to climb from No. 17 to No. 13 in the final national rankings. Indianapolis beat St. Louis 1-0 on a corner kick in the championship game.

The tournament consisted of teams from Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana ranked 11-19 nationally. The Flyers finished the season 13-19.

Autry Keener led Turnstone with four goals and 10 assists, July Myers had nine goals and three assists and Jake Sherron scored seven goals and four assists.
