Does anyone else agree with me that our America is going in the wrong direction? My mom used to tell us, “use the common sense the good Lord gave you.”
The multiple break-ins and robberies by young men in this neighborhood has been ignored. This was the reason for the establishment of a watch. It was thought necessary to protect property. It wasn't dreamed up to harass anyone in particular. It's existence should have been common knowledge and their presence and purpose honored.

I am so happy the George Zimmerman fiasco is over. One thing that really needs to be put into perspective is the fact Trayvon Martin was not a “child.” He was a young man, teenager. Our courts need a better definition of what a “child” is.
I was in line at Meijer to return an item. Of all the six employees who came around in that area (three were at the counters), only one (the young lady at the counter) was smiling! Sorry I didn't “have” you, so I didn't catch your name, but you deserve a raise!
In 1995, the country watched the O.J. Simpson's trial for murdering in cold blood, two white victims. It made national news for weeks. He was found “not guilty,” and there were no demonstrations, vandalism and fighting! Did George Zimmerman get the same treatment? No. Double standard — yes.
