MUNCIE — Police in Muncie say two men were wounded in an exchange of gunfire near a city park's busy basketball court.

Muncie police Sgt. Kirk Mace says the shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Heekin Park on the city's south side.

Mace tells The Star Press that two young adult men suffered non-life-threatening wounds. He says one was hit in the leg, while the other has forearm wound.

Investigators believe gunshots were fired at and from at least one vehicle that was parked near the park's basketball court. Mace says 60 to 100 people were at the basketball court at the time, but witnesses weren't cooperating with officers.
