Meet Holly Mishler and Karen Flesch, who created the children's picture book, “Grandma's Garden,” 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 24 at Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St. The book costs $18 and Mishler and Flesch will be available for book signings. Interactive story times are at 11 and 11:30 a.m. and at noon and 12:30 p.m. Admission to the conservatory is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 3-17 and free ages 2 and under.Hoosier author Michael Martone received a $10,000 national author prize awarded by the Eugene and Marilyn Glick 2013 Indiana Authors Award. Martone also will designate a $2,500 grant for the public library of his choice.Author Jennifer Pharr Davis will discuss her hiking adventures and books at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.Bookflix is for ages 6-14 who like to read and watch movies and meets at 4 p.m. Aug. 5 and 19 at Tecumseh branch library, 1411 E.
