Names released in two fatal crashes in Allen County, Fort Wayne

The Allen County coroner’s office released today the following information on two fatal crashes:

*William A. Tucker, 94, of Roanoke, was the victim of a motor vehicle crash that occurred July 17 at US 24 West and Ravine Trail in Allen County. He died Friday at Lutheran Hospital of sepsis due to complications of cervical fractures from the crash, and had been hospitalized since the accident, according to a news release from the coroner’s office. Tucker is the 19th fatal motor crash victim in Allen County in 2013.

*Irvin J. Gates, 23, of Fort Wayne has been identified as the driver of the motor vehicle that crashed through the Tecumseh Street bridge early Saturday morning and plunged into the Maumee River. Gates was pronounced dead at Parkview Hospital. The cause of death has been determined to be drowning. The manner of death has been determined to be accident.
